How to get from Honolulu International Airport to Waikiki

It takes little more than 15 minutes to make the 8.5-mile drive from Honolulu International Airport to Waikiki.

1. Leave the Hertz rental lot and head towards Aolele Street.
2. Take a left onto Lagoon Drive, then right onto HI-92 E.
3. Use the left two lanes to take the slip road onto H-1 E.
4. Merge onto H-1 E and stay on this route for around 4.5 miles.
5. Use the right lane to take Exit 23 for Punahou Street, towards Waikiki.
6. Take the second from right lane to merge onto Punahou Street.
7. Use the two left lanes to turn left onto Kalakaua Avenue.
8. Cross the Ala Wai Canal and continue onwards to reach Waikiki.
