In towns like Penzance itself the limit is usually 30mph, though some residential zones or roads near schools may be 20mph. Pay close attention to signage as the speed limits can vary.

This magnificent island is an iconic landmark in Cornwall, with its looming castle sitting atop a towering vantage point. The fort dates back to the 12th century, with a rich history that can be explored through a variety of rooms and exhibits.
Getting to the island is an adventure in itself. Setting out from Marazion Beach, you can get to St Michael’s Mount by walking along a granite causeway at low tide, which disappears when the tide rolls in.
When the causeway is impassible, a passenger boat can take you to the island from Marazion Car Park instead. When you reach St. Michael’s Mount you can explore, discover its eventful past and appreciate the spectacular views.
Reopening in the summer of 2019 after extensive renovation work, this art deco lido situated on the promenade of Penzance is an awesome destination to take a dip.
The Jubilee Pool is situated at the Battery Rocks and was designed in the early 1930s by Captain F Latham. The lido opened in May 1935 sporting an unusual triangular shape, and has been a popular spot to swim and splash ever since.
In keeping with the Penzance way of displaying art outdoors, the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens provide a fascinating attraction.

Not only this, but it’s an oasis for beautiful rare species of plants and wildlife – a truly great day out. From the gardens, you can also enjoy a stunning view of the bay.
Just a 10-mile drive south of Penzance you’ll find the breathtaking Minack Theater – an open-air venue carved into a Porthcurno clifftop, looking out onto the Atlantic Ocean.
