Terms and Conditions

1. Terms and Conditions of the Network-wide Benefits. The following terms and conditions apply to the Network-wide Benefits:

a. General:

• You must be an American Express cardmember to benefit from this offer.
• To receive the benefits, you must enrol in Hertz Gold Plus Rewards via www.hertz.com/amexbenefits and your Gold membership number must be quoted at the time of reservation. Existing Gold Plus Rewards members must add CDP code 705500 to their Gold Plus Rewards profile.
• In all cases, a valid American Express card must be used to purchase this offer or by entering the Cardmember’s American Express benefits-enabled Gold Plus Rewards membership number at time of reservation. American Express Card members may use this offer as many times as they desire during the validity period.  
• Renters must meet all Hertz qualifications, standards and requirements as per the terms and conditions of Hertz rental agreements. Visit www.hertz.com for full details.
• Hertz reserves the right to modify and/or cancel these Amex Card member benefits, including amending the list of participating locations at any time without prior notice.
• Should you cancel your American Express Card membership, your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards membership will not be cancelled, however you will not receive the portfolio of Five Star member benefits described. American Express will notify Hertz of such cancellations.
• Reservations must be made at least 24 hours prior to vehicle pick-up.
• Leisure minimum rental age is 23 years.
• Offer may not be combined with any other promotional offer.
• Hertz reserves the right to modify and/or cancel any promotion at any time without prior notice.
• Vehicle must be returned to location of rental, if not a one way charge will be applied if returned to a different location, for details, please check at location during vehicle pick up.
• Offer is subject to availability at participating locations. 
• Standard blackout dates apply (see Hertz Reservation Terms and Conditions).
• Hertz standard terms and conditions of rental apply.

b. Discount savings:

• Discount is off Hertz’s publicly available retail rates (excluding Special Offers) at time of booking at participating Hertz locations worldwide. Blackout periods apply.
• The discount applies to base rate quoted (excluding taxes and any other charges). It does not apply to affiliated rates or rates that are already discounted. Discount does not apply to Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft protection (TP) (unless included in the base rate), Vehicle Licensing Fee (VLF), any surcharges (including but not limited to location surcharge or Young Driver Surcharge), taxes or any additional charges and optional extras such as excess waivers (SuperCover), Personal Insurance, snow/chains/tyres, child seats, GPS and fuel which are charged at normal rates.
• Discount is not available in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Taiwan.
• In Japan the discount is 5% and a one car-class upgrade is not available.
• Vans and commercial vehicles are not eligible for the discount. 
• Discount is only applied when quoting CDP code 705500 (or entering the Cardmember’s American Express benefits-enabled Gold Plus Rewards membership number) at time of reservation.
• When booking, prepaid rates are quoted in home currencies (e.g. Sterling when booking from UK), non-prepaid rates will be quoted in the local currency (at the rental destination) Vehicle must be returned to location of rental, if not a one-way charge will apply.

c. Complimentary one-car-class upgrade:

• Complimentary one-car-class upgrade is subject to availability at participating locations worldwide for rentals of 5 or more consecutive days and is based on availability of larger car at time of rental.
• One-car-class upgrade does not apply to Vans and Special vehicles.

d. Fee-Waived Additional Driver:

• Complimentary additional driver must be requested at rental location prior to collecting the rental car and is subject to meeting Hertz’s driving requirements.
