BMW 4 Series Cabrio

If you are lucky enough to hire a BMW 4 Series Convertible you’ll discover one of the most prestigious ways of enjoying fresh-air motoring in the small four-seater class. You’ll find that the “convertible” actually arrives with a sturdy metal top. Just press a button on the dashboard, however, and the roof cleverly folds into three, tucking away neatly into the boot in 20 seconds. This means you can choose the security and insulation of the hard roof when travelling in unfriendly weather or when parked, while still being able to experience the glamour of open-top travelling at a moment’s notice.

BMW have adapted the Coupe version of the 4 Series for this convertible role by strengthening the chassis under the car. This compensates for the loss of structural rigidity, and makes the cabrio version feel solid and refined whether the roof is up or down.

It retains the positive features of the excellent 4 Series Coupe: rear-wheel drive handling prowess, head-turning looks and a badge with genuine cachet. There’s room for four plus a useful boot, and the cabin is nicely finished and equipped.

The 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine versions have sparkling performance. Expect to accelerate from 0-60mph in less than six seconds, and to be able to reach a maximum speed of 155mph.
