Key roads in Scranton

• Interstate 84 (I-84) begins just to the east of Scranton, heading through Wayne and Pike counties, and on to Massachusetts.
• Interstate 81 (I-81) travels north to south through Scranton, running past Nay Aug Park on its way. Follow it southwest for Harrisburg or drive north for New York State and Lake Ontario.
• Interstate 476 (I-476) starts just north of Scranton, then leads south all the way to the western outskirts of Philadelphia.

How to get from Scranton to New York City

The Big Apple is about 120 miles from Scranton, a drive that should take just over two hours.

1. Leave Scranton on I-380, heading south.
2. Drive in left two lanes for Exit 1B and merge on to I-80 East.
3. After around 60 miles, take Exit 47A for I-280 East.
4. Take Exit 17A and merge on to the Newark/Jersey City Turnpike.
5. Follow signs for NJ-139 East and the Holland Tunnel. Note that the Holland Tunnel is a toll road.

How to get from Scranton to Ricketts Glen State Park

The scenic Ricketts Glen is about an hour west of Scranton. To reach it, take the I-81 South and then Exit 170B on to PA 309 North. Take a left for Hillside Road which eventually becomes Old Route 115. Turn left again for PA-188 West and, after about 15 miles, a final right on to PA-487 North.

Montage Mountain Resorts

Ricketts Glen State Park
